Trace 'n Write is a
program that can help your child learn to write upper and lower case
letters of the alphabet. It is intended for pre-school and kindergarten
age children.
Choose a letter to practice on by pressing a letter of the alphabet from
one of the rows at the bottom of the screen. The letter selected is
displayed on the screen, as it would be on ruled lettering paper in
upper case and lower case. Each letter of the alphabet has numbers
indicating the order to make each pen stroke and arrows showing the
direction. Your child can trace each letter of the alphabet directly on
the screen with the stylus, just as you would with pencil and paper.
After a short period of time, the tracing disappears and the letter can
be traced again. Also, below each letter are guidelines where your child
can practice writing letters on their own. What better way to use your
Pocket PC.... helping your child get a head start learning to write!
Trace 'n Write takes advantage of the built in Transcriber utility that
is part of the Pocket PC operating system. The Transcriber is turned on
by pressing the up arrow in the lower right corner of your screen and
choosing the menu option "Transcriber". The utility has options that can
be used to change the color of the tracing and the duration of time the
tracing is displayed on the screen.
